Decorate Your Street
An important part of Michael Aaron Williams’ artwork is focused on the street. He makes cardboard cutouts of kids and places them in outdoor locations for citizens and tourists to see. He also adds props like flowers, arrows and other objects to give a layer of realism and storytelling to his paper children.
Michael Aaron Williams: "The children that I draw actually live on the streets, they are often homeless or orphans. I recently lived in an orphanage in Thailand for two months and was able to get to know the children there. They told me their stories and let me use them as subject matter for my street work throughout Asia. I learned that even though these kids have been through horrible situations, they still find beauty in life and reveal it to the rest of us."
