Elegant Dancers Along City Streets

Australian photographer Lisa Tomasetti has worked as a visual artist and movie stills photographer for the past 23 years. Her eye for cinematic drama comes through in her promenade photography, a assemblage of images in which she is adept to capture the beautiful elegance of choreography dancers set against the more uneven, gritty built-up town streets of Paris, Tokyo, and New York.
Dressed in leotards, tutus, and satin issue footwear, her topics elegantly represent in a variety of classic ballet positions including the impressive jeté and the arabesque penchée. Tomasetti places the dancers in the most unforeseen environments, and, as they achieve divides in mid air and carefully balance on one toe, viewers know-how a visual juxtaposition of classic elegance and refinement, set in front of the roughness of street corners, subway positions, and lively shopping districts.
