Captivating Portraits Taken Inside a Plexiglass Box
This sequence sets the artist in various countrysides, all the while protected inside the confines of a wooden bordered plexiglass carton. The little rectangle is a visual representation of the artist's dwelling' which she literally carries with her as a part of her own self. Mire states, "Home isn’t a lone space, because if it were I would be hard pressed to hold it occupied. I am sporadic, impulsive and spontaneous; I am habitually in shift and I need a compact dwelling that can keep up with me, that goes through life with me. I need an idea, not a personal location." This task boosts viewers to contemplate their own delineation of dwelling and to address that sentiments of safety and protect can always be with us, wherever we go.
