Hyper Realistic Glare

Simon Hennessey’s decorated portraits are all about the details, it’s like he is doing a forensic study of each facial mark every spot, line, and smudge. And although his work is categorized as photo-realist, he doesn’t inevitably replicate the faces exactly from his picture quotations. He interprets: “I do not adhere to a factual mimetic depiction of a image, I use the camera only as a source to aid me with accumulating data. My method of supplementing or eliminating minutia, altering deepness, supplementing textures, pattern and hue standards and their relationship inside the decorating, permits me to create an illusion of a reality not glimpsed in any photographic source.”
