Incredible Topographical Sculptures
Spanish creative person Cristina Iglesias conceives sculptural installations that are embedded into their surrounding architecture, playing and redefining the spaces they live at. The ongoing Metonymy sequence (Metonimia in Spanish) also explores the connections between art and nature. utilising natural countrysides and replication of cascading waterfalls, Iglesias incorporates her assembled topography indoors.
The creative person is conscious of every component that sways the viewer's know-how when going into a room and examining her work, from the lighting to the spacial composition of each part. They serve to change the architecture, changing the reality of a space along with its appearance. She says, "I'm involved in the idea of making a well outside connecting you to the depths of the earth. And I'm involved in a well that takes you to a dreamy location you know is not possible.
