Jellyfish Lagoon


Ascending on board a vessel, putting on scuba equipment, and splashing into the water to go diving is not an undertaking for every person. But for some, like Flickr person taking photos lar3, diving is the flawless opening for breakthrough. In these surreal countrysides, the adventurous photographer transports us to another world. From an underwater viewpoint, he captures natural gradients of hue and intriguing animals bobbing about their every day lives.
In this sequence of photographs, lar3 brings to the exterior a kelp forest and a jellyfish lagoon. In the bobbing plantation of kelp, he articles the vibrant swell of hue that move naturally from deep greens to bright oranges and yellows. Anchored to rocks, the columns of kelp sway in the water as schools of fish bathe past. In the jellyfish lagoon, a swarm of neutral tinted animals are set glaringly against the blues and greens of the deep water. Through his fearless escapades, lar3 presents his viewers with a refreshing perspective of life underneath the surface.
